Hopes for 2021 (including TBR list)

I must admit, it’s hard to think about my hopes for 2021 this year. So I kept most of them small.

First of all, and this is something major, my partner and I REALLY want to start living together this year. This means I would have to move out of my current place, which has been my home for almost 18 years! That’s almost half of my life! And I will also be moving out of town. It took both of us a while to get to this place, where we are both ready at the same time, and prepared for it. It will be exciting in both a positive as a scary way.

Secondly I need and want to continue working on my health. It’s something I must always do, but last year I decided to take it to the next lever and this year I will continue that. There was a major setback last year after my falling accident, but I CAN DO THIS! Life is about falling and getting back up anyway right? So let’s get back up again. And again.

I also want to continue exploring my crafty side. I have noticed last year I really like drawing, water coloring and painting. This is so new to me. But with a year of being home alone for most of the time (well, until the move anyway) it’s a perfect year to keep trying new crafts and techniques or just the ones I discovered I like. 🙂

As for the allotment garden, I am not sure what to do yet, mostly because of the move. I will start preparing soon, but I have to figure out what I can do and what plants must be moved with us to our new home. Since we haven’t exactly bought something yet, I have no idea what will be possible in our back garden.

And of course there will be books. For 2021 I am setting my reading goal at 80 books! I also hope to read more than 26.000 pages. And go above the 3.5 star average rating. Just like last year, I looked at the books I already own (or have at home/ordered from the library) and prepared a list of books I definately want to read. The list is currently 40 books long.

Another thing related to books is that I will be transitioning from Goodreads to theStorygraph. As they say themselves: “The StoryGraph helps you track your reading and choose your next book based on your mood and your favorite topics and themes. Because life’s too short for a book you’re not in the mood for.” The day after Christmas I exported my history to theStorygraph and was able to see my statistics over 2020. So much more interesting! The recommendations are far better than Goodreads. I also love that it’s development is still active, where Goodreads just gives you a big FUCK YOU every time you find a bug…

So let’s get to the list of books I want to read in 2021!
